Kalbarri

Hi all, in August we spent time in Kalbarri and the National Park, the rocks, flowers and scenery is amazing. The first afternoon we headed to the Wildflower Centre hoping to see lots of flowers, we saw many orchids and other flowers.

Coloured rocks on path to Ross Graham lookout
After looking at Hawks Head and Ross Graham we called in at Meanarra Lookout which overlooks Kalbarri, but the most amazing thing is the rocks up there are 400 million years old.

On another day when the road to Nature's window was open we had a great day, picnic lunch then a walk to the rock formations, the colours of the rocks is fantastic. The rock formation of Nature's Window is !!!! (I can't keep saying amazing & fantastic you would not believe it)

On our way in we saw a sign to a lookout so on the way back we went to look at it, not many people, one other couple, with views back across to Nature's Window over the river.

Murchison River @ Z Bend, Kalbarri NP
At Z Bend lookout you view the dramatic gorge from behind a fence after walking over the bridge. This was fantastic.

Racing the waves @ Murchison River outlet Kalbarri River
For the fishing boats to get in and out of the river entrance they have to run the waves over the rocks, it is great to watch from the cliffs
Murchison Rose
On our last day we did the Coastal Cliffs, more spectacular scenery of the Indian Ocean and Zuytdorp Cliffs.

We really enjoyed our time here and would liked to have stayed longer but our time was up in the park, so it was off to Geraldton, so next time we will stay longer. So for now bye and see you all soon. Marilyn and Ian
