Broome Part 2, June & July

Hi everyone,
As you can see from the photo we are nicely set up. We are using our sunshade end as a roof for added shade area. Ian and I have been walking on the beach a lot since Tom and Anne left (all Anne's fault) but   it is proving good for both of us. We haven't been doing a lot of tourist stuff but going into town and looking round to see what is what with this town.

Same sunny day at Cable Beach
One day we decided to go to James Price Point to see what all the fuss is about the Gas Hub, "NO GAS" the area is just beautiful, lots of coloured cliffs and sand, birds and dinosaurs prints in the rocks. Great sandy corrugated bush road to get there, picnic on the cliff top and a walk along the beach.

Back at Cable Beach for more walks to see all the tourists getting stuck in the sand, ships lined up in the bay.

Rocky point at Cable Beach, no way round as tide to high
This one tried to go round the point, no luck tide to high. Hire 4x4 anyway that did not stop them trying.
Broome Japanese Cemetery
We felt we should go to visit the Japanese Cemetery after seeing the discarded memorials at the Broome Historical Society Museum that had broken by vandals and had to be replaced (the black ones) The Museum was good to see. The cemetery was interesting to view. We do seem to go to the beach a bit.

Sig and Bianka arrived at the end of June and stayed for the month, we enjoyed there company, Friday fish & chips on the beach, lots of swimming and happy hours.

At the end of July the 4 of us set of for a picnic at James Price Point with a trip into Willy Creek Pearl Farm for a look, the tide was out so it did look different this time. Lunch was at Coulomb Point again with a great walk along the beach, camera's were very busy.

On Tuesday we had our last happy hour with Sig and Bianka on Cable Beach as they were leaving on Wednesday for Derby, so we won't see them till Melbourne. I meet more Mottrams who parked opposite us, amazing where you meet relatives. Ian spent most nights in July watching the Tour and Marilyn spent some time watching Master Chef, both of us have had colds but OK now. As you can tell we haven't been up to much but enjoying the warm weather, walks on the beach etc.
Cheers and love to all till next time.
Marilyn and Ian
